Description:
The Grassroots Coordinator is the liaison between NRA-ILA and NRA members and gun owners ensuring that NRA’s supporters are educated and actively energized to assist in the promotion of the Association’s legislative and political agendas. The Coordinator will be responsible for legislative & political activities and maintaining organizations and programs for certain specified jurisdictions -- with special emphasis on recruiting, training, and activating NRA-ILA’s Election Volunteer Coordinators in congressional districts nationwide. The Coordinator will actively promote legislative and political activism among NRA members as well as non-members by attending gun club meetings, gun shows, political conferences, state association meetings, and other organizations' events.
The Coordinator must have extensive campaign experience and must be well versed in and possess a strong knowledge of the legislative and political missions of the NRA, the legislative and political processes, and have a strong working knowledge of the NRA and its programs. The Coordinator addresses groups across the country on gun-related legislative issues, and will attend shows and conferences to: instruct, recruit, and promote volunteer activism; promote NRA-ILA's legislative and political agendas; and discuss the National Rifle Association's general positions and missions in public fora. The Coordinator will also actively research and prepare both written and oral responses to pending legislative and political issues facing the Association. The Grassroots Coordinator will assist the Division Managers and Director in writing, researching, and preparing new grassroots lobbying technique materials for distribution to members and the general public, and assist in writing and researching stories for the Division's weekly Grassroots Alert and monthly newsletters. The Coordinator will also assist in responding to correspondence, with incoming phones, phone banks, mailers, and dissemination of materials.
Education & Experience: College degree, with Political Science degree a plus; Extensive campaign experience required; Strong knowledge of the legislative process or related legislative experience required; Knowledge of NRA and NRA-ILA's legislative and political mission required. Must demonstrate strong public speaking ability and written communication skills required; extensive travel required.

Law Enforcement Curriculum Developer

Description:
Develops and writes highly technical law enforcement specific firearm instructor curriculum for the NRA's Law Enforcement Activities Division's Firearm Instructor Development programs, which are intended for public and private law enforcement and the U.S. Military. Researches, develops and writes, utilizing established recognized industry training standards and current Supreme Court case law rulings, and other related material to produce materials for the Firearms Instructors Development training programs. Reviews, updates as necessary and develops training aid material(s) so as to assure NRA's courses are current and applicable. Provides, on request, technical assistance to public and private law enforcement agencies, the U.S. military and their respective agencies. Responsible for attending both regional and annual meetings and conferences of varied law enforcement and/or law enforcement training associations as assigned. Responsible for the identification of current and future training needs assessments, as well as the formulation and implementation of such approved training changes.
High School diploma required. BA/BS in law enforcement or communications field desired. Minimum of 10 years as a sworn law enforcement officer (military experience alone cannot be substituted). Ideal candidate will possess minimum 10 years of sworn law enforcement officer experience, coupled with military experience. Minimum of 5 years as a law enforcement specific firearm instructor required, preferably as a full-time firearm instructor at an agency or regional training academy. Prior experience on a law enforcement tactical or SWAT team highly desirable. Prior competitions experience in PPC, IDPA, IPSC, or 3-Gun Competitions desired.
Position functions in a fast paced work environment with minimal direct supervision. Occasional local and national travel and weekend work required. Physical ability to negotiate steps, ladders, stand for extended periods of time and run on occasion required. Ability to lift and carry firearms and/or ammunition containers required. Perform various tactical movements and/or room entry methods. Quickly and safely assuming standing, kneeling, sitting and prone shooting positions, shooting from around, over and under cover, maintaining these positions for a period of time, and safely recovering without assistance. Frequently exposed to hearing, vision and other hazards associated with firearms training.
Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Position requires advanced working knowledge of computer hardware and familiarity with next generation presentation and desktop publishing techniques. Demonstrated proficiency with MAC computers desired. Intermediate working knowledge of PC's, laptop computers, LCD projectors, desktop publishing techniques, digital photography, Adobe Creative software applications to include PhotoShop, Illustrator and InDesign desired. Working knowledge of E-mail and MicroSoft Office [Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) required. Demonstrated ability to load, fire, reload and unload, clear malfunctions and make safe law enforcement pistols, rifles and shotguns required. Merchandise Program Assistant

SUMMARY:
Responsible for assisting the Merchandise Manager with distribution of merchandise to fund-raising events across the nation. Assist the Merchandise Manager in managing purchase, receipt, delivery and quality of Friends of NRA merchandise. Track inventory levels, trends and usage of merchandise through computerized database system. Inform field staff of industry and package updates, changes, and promotions.
SCOPE:

NRA Advancement Officer - Gifts of Firearms
|
Description:
Develop strategies, implement, grow, and manage the Gifts of Firearms Program. Provide support to all fundraising staff to identify, solicit, and steward donors/prospects interested in making a gifts of firearms. Build positive relationships with major and planned gift prospects and donors for the benefit of the National Rifle Association. Participate as a member of the Advancement team to build the Advancement program according to individual talents and skills.
Implement marketing strategies to build upon and expand the existing Gifts of Firearms Program. Write and submit policy guidelines relative to the Gifts of Firearms Program for consideration and approval by the Gift Acceptance Committee. Facilitate communication among donors, The National Firearms Museum staff, designated auction houses, Advancement Officers, Office of Advancement team members, Gift Acceptance Committee members, and the Director, Strategic Giving. Manage administrative issues for the Gifts of Firearms Program including shipping arrangements, reporting on firearm inventories, proceeds from sales, etc. Facilitate gifts of firearms and consult with the Director of Planned Giving as directed, where the gift or conditions of the gift are outside the stated guidelines of the Gift Acceptance Committee or where the benefit of the gift is questionable for any reason. Develop and adhere to an approved annual budget to provide funding for the efficient accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Required:
Four-year undergraduate degree or ten years combined experience in fundraising with a non-profit or equivalent in
business, financial services or management.
A conversant and knowledgeable facilitator in the area of firearms and gifts of firearms.
Knowledgeable of charitable gifting techniques involving firearms.
Ability to build personal long-term relationships with strategic giving/planned gift prospects and donors.
Willingness to learn the most sophisticated strategic and planned gift fundraising techniques and strategies.
Experience with successful one-on-one cultivation and solicitation of prospects for gifts of $5,000 or similar experience.
Ability to develop and implement dynamic plans to identify, cultivate, and solicit strategic and planned gift prospects.
Ability to use existing MS Office applications for personal administrative support and databases for prospect management.
Ability to travel 10 days per month within.
Ability to work on weekends as necessary.
Preferred:
Knowledge and experience in managing budgets.

Planned Giving Expert - Northeast Region

Description:
The National Rifle Association is presently seeking an experienced Planned Giving expert to serve as the regional Planned Gift Officer (PGO) for the Northeast Region. In this capacity the PGO will partner and collaborate with regional fundraising staff as a resource for planned gifts and will work to maximize both planned giving and strategic giving donor potential. Responsibilities include:
- Host, conduct, or otherwise assist in regional planned giving donor cultivation and educational events.
- Develop and maintain potential donor lists and database; actively propose, solicit and close planned gifts.
- Serve as subject matter expert for the legal, tax and estate implications and ramifications surrounding the division's planned giving efforts.
- Host, conduct or otherwise participate in regional estate planning or educational seminars and workshops.
- Identify and refer pro-Second Amendment attorneys and financial planners for inclusion in the Estate Planning Professional Network.
A passion for the Second Amendment is required, as is considerable knowledge of planning giving and estate planning. Knowledge of tax laws as related to charitable giving and a BA/BS plus 10 years fundraising required. Past experience as a planned giving/estate planning expert is preferred, as is a JD. The ability to work independently to achieve stretch goals is essential for success; a proven track record of success in fundraising is expected. Must be able to travel frequently, including weekends, on a local and national basis. The ability to be self-supporting administratively is necessary.

Staff Instructor

Description:
Provide instructor development training for the NRA’s Law Enforcement Activities Division’s Firearm Instructor Development Schools, which are intended for public and private law enforcement and the U.S. Military.
1. Researches, develops and presents related material for the Firearms Instructors Development training program. Reviews and receives training aid material so as to assure NRA’s courses are current and applicable.
2. Responsible for the development and direction of part-time instructors selected to lead or support in assigned classes, as well as range presentations as relative to the Law Enforcement Instructor Development Schools.
3. Solicits, seeks and secures training sites for the Law Enforcement Instructor Development Schools.
4. Provide, on request, technical assistance to public and private law enforcement, the U.S. military instructors and their respective agencies.
5. Responsible for conducting as the lead instructor, of a minimum of fifteen (15) classes/courses in the disciplines you are assigned.
6. Responsible for establishing a liaison with and attending annual meetings or conferences of varied law enforcement and law enforcement training associations as assigned.
The Staff Instructor selected for this position would report and work from the NRA headquarters office in Fairfax, Virginia. High visibility with general public, private and military personnel, instructors and their agencies engaged in similar types of training, and NRA staff. Extensive local and national travel required. Weekend work required. Physical ability to negotiate steps, ladders and stand for extended periods of time and run on occasion required. Physical ability to lift firearms or ammunition containers required. Ability to demonstrate any tactical movement or entry method, adopt any shooting position, hold in position for extended periods and recover from same unassisted required. Possess the hand, arm and upper body strength required to safely handle, load, fire, reload, fire, unload, clear and make safe any student firearms as required. Frequently exposed to hearing, vision and other hazards associated with firearms training.
Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement or related discipline or equivalent law enforcement experience required. Ten years of public law enforcement experience and a minimum of five years of law enforcement firearm instructor experience required. Experience as Match Coordinator or competitor in Police Pistol Combat events.
Demonstrated ability to develop course material and exercises to multi-skill level and multi cultural groups required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to adapt instructional methods to accommodate a wide variety of skill levels, learning abilities and cultural diversity essential. Tactical Rifle Program Coordinator

Description:
Under the supervision of the National Manager, High Power Rifle Programs, research, develop and implement new NRA Tactical Rifle Programs. Assist the National Manager, High Power Rifle Programs in the coordination of all High Power, High Power Long Range, Fullbore and Tactical Rifle National and International Palma (World Long Range) programs and activities associated with competition.
Act independently, with full responsibility for many Department programs under overall direction of the National Manager. In close coordination with the National Manager, High Power Rifle, assist in the daily management of all NRA High Power Tactical programs and traditional High Power programs as time allows. Working within Competitive Shooting Division guidelines, develop new tactical rifle shooting competitions. The objective and goal of any new program will be to develop competitions that will draw large numbers of competitors to NRA sanctioned tactical rifle matches across the country. Work within traditional NRA High Power Rifle Programs to bring in new tactical rifle equipment and courses of fire that will enhance existing programs and increase participation. Assist the National Manager compile and maintain complete and accurate National Rifle Records and initiates National Records recognition procedures. Accurately maintains database and provides recognition for High Masters and Honorary Club Awards and State Championships recipients. Assist the National Manager review, analyze, and approve all High Power tournament programs sent from Tournament Operations in a timely manner. Proof all applicable Coming Events slips, in an accurate and timely manner. Assist in the coordination of activities and helps establish requirements in the development of the Department's budget within divisional guidelines. Assist in maintaining inventory and ordering of awards for High Power Championships and achievement programs as directed. Researches, compiles, reviews, edits and drafts program promotional materials as directed.
High visibility with all NRA Divisions, national and international shooting organizations, NRA membership, State Associations and local Clubs. Some local and national travel required. Some weekend work may be required. Position requires the lifting and carrying of items not to exceed 50 lbs.
Four year college degree with concentration in Management or Business Administration preferred. Professional experience may be considered as an alternative. Background in Tactical Rifle competition, stage design and event development is essential. Self-starter with demonstrated ability to organize and monitor programs effectively and efficiently essential. Responsible for receiving and shipping of merchandise to Friends of NRA banquet locations as directed. Major responsibilities include packaging and master packing of standard package merchandise in preparation for shipment, fulfillment of optional merchandise orders, packaging and shipping of optional firearms orders, and loading and unloading of delivery trucks. Additional responsibilities include maintaining the cleanliness of warehouse, ordering boxes and other shipping supplies, maintaining effective organization of all merchandise, and properly storing warehouse equipment. Other duties include ensuring the safety of warehouse structures and assisting other staff with the general security of the warehouse.
Essential Responsibilities: Receiving all merchandise deliveries to warehouse from vendors. Fulfilling all merchandise orders and loading of orders onto delivery trucks. Maintain and/or schedule maintenance of warehouse equipment used for handling merchandise deliveries and fulfillment such as the forklift, hand trucks, packing fill dispensers, and box knives. Schedule transfers of merchandise from overflow facility to warehouse. Assist other staff with preparation of the warehouse for merchandise selection meetings and inventory meetings performed by headquarters as directed. Maintain cleanliness of warehouse and shipping and receiving areas.
Position functions in a fast paced, deadline oriented work environment with varied priorities and responsibilities. Extensive physical lifting and packaging of merchandise is performed. Communication with vendors, headquarters staff and field representatives is expected. Weekend work is occasionally required. Travel rarely required. Ability to lift 75 pounds required.
High School diploma or equivalent required. Proven warehouse operations experience in shipping, receiving and organizing is a requirement. Experience with inventory counts, warehouse equipment safety and maintenance of equipment additionally required.

Responsible for design and maintenance of the NRA Publications e-media properties, including but not limited to graphic design, front-end development, Flash creation and video, in an efficient and punctual manner.

Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Graphic Design or Computer Science. Minimum three years experience in web/multi-media development. Experience in conceptualization, design and production of graphics for web and print materials.
Working knowledge of and experience with electronic publishing systems, web publishing systems and related software programs mandatory. Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS. Understanding of cross-browser issues (i.e., Firefox, Safari, etc.). Proficient in web applications including Flash and Dreamweaver.
