Description:
Develop strategies, implement, grow and manage Planned Giving Special Program to include gifts of real estate, qualified plans and life insurance. Provide support to all fundraising staff in the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors/prospects interested in making Special Programs gifts. Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward a pool of donors/prospects that have an interest and ability to make planned gifts through Special Programs. Expand and energize the NRA Estate Planning Professionals Network. Remain current on trends and tax law changes that may affect or provide new opportunities to donors.
Establish and maintain a current “Hot 100” of potential donors for personal cultivation and solicitation. These prospects should have the capacity to make a planned gift of $25,000 or more. Develop and implement strategies to identify, and solicit planned or major gifts utilizing Special Program planning vehicles and techniques. Provide training to Advancement Offices and staff in identifying all Special Program gifting techniques.
Work with the Director of Planned Giving to create a Planned Giving Advisory Board (PGAB) to consist of 20 professional of regional or national stature who are attorneys, estate planners, tax professionals, or life insurance agents. The PGAB shall, in a non-binding way, seek to ensure best practices in each professional field involved in planned giving, identify strategies that maximize planned giving opportunities, and identify trends or changes in the law that provide additional planned giving opportunities or which may adversely impact planned giving donors.
Required:
A passion for the mission of the NRA. Personal and professional integrity, as well as high standards of excellence. BA/BS Degree or ten years combined experience in fundraising with a non-profit or equivalent experience in business, financial services or management. Knowledge of planned giving and estate planning especially as it pertains to life insurance and retirement plans. Able to travel frequently, both local and national. Ability to use existing MS Office applications for administrative support and databases for donor and prospect management.

Field Representative Area # 22 (AL)

Description:
Acts as representative for the National Rifle Association on an area level to NRA members, volunteers, clubs and associations. Manages fund-raising efforts, promotes membership development programs and promotes NRA programs and services. Implements fund-raising for The NRA Foundation through organizing volunteer committees and coordinating Friends of NRA banquets and special events. Coordinates the solicitation and distribution of applications for Friends of NRA State Fund grants and serves as secretary for the State Fund Committee. Insures compliance with all of the conditions of allocation for all The NRA Foundation grants. Solicits gifts and donations to The NRA Foundation endowments, ensuring follow-up and donor recognition. Establishes a network of volunteers by identifying and recruiting select NRA activists as Field Support Team members. Trains Field Support Team members, Friends of NRA committee members and other volunteers by conducting an annual workshop as well as other training as needed. Coordinates the efforts of all volunteers to ensure accomplishment of area goals and objectives. Ensures NRA presence at all major gun shows, sports shows and related exhibits/events by coordinating the efforts of Field Support Team members and other volunteers. Promotes NRA membership recruitment programs and services by networking with the state associations, NRA affiliated clubs and retail dealers; promotes and recruits Business Alliance memberships, actively seeks out and recruits shooting sports clubs as NRA affiliated clubs. Prepares and submits in a timely manner all reports including; Weekly Reports, Call Reports, Time Cards, Friends of NRA financial reports, State Fund Committee reports, Expense Reports and others as may be required. Promote shooting sports programs to encourage the participation of the American public by guiding established shooting clubs and other organizations in the implementation of shooting sports programs especially directed at youth and women. In concert with the Senior Field Representative and Regional Director, establishes annual goals and objectives for the respective area. Ensures efficient accomplishment of all assigned tasks within the budget parameters established for the area.
High visibility with NRA membership, volunteers, activists, members of the NRA Board of Directors, NRA staff and the media. Responsible for large sums of money on a regular basis and the care and maintenance of NRA equipment. Position requires frequent travel and overtime work, including weekends and evenings. Position functions with minimal day-to-day supervision. Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Previous experience and exposure to fund-raising, volunteer recruitment and management is required. NRA Advancement Officer - Gifts of Firearms

Description:
Develop strategies, implement, grow, and manage the Gifts of Firearms Program. Provide support to all fundraising staff to identify, solicit, and steward donors/prospects interested in making a gifts of firearms. Build positive relationships with major and planned gift prospects and donors for the benefit of the National Rifle Association. Participate as a member of the Advancement team to build the Advancement program according to individual talents and skills.
Implement marketing strategies to build upon and expand the existing Gifts of Firearms Program. Write and submit policy guidelines relative to the Gifts of Firearms Program for consideration and approval by the Gift Acceptance Committee. Facilitate communication among donors, The National Firearms Museum staff, designated auction houses, Advancement Officers, Office of Advancement team members, Gift Acceptance Committee members, and the Director, Strategic Giving. Manage administrative issues for the Gifts of Firearms Program including shipping arrangements, reporting on firearm inventories, proceeds from sales, etc. Facilitate gifts of firearms and consult with the Director of Planned Giving as directed, where the gift or conditions of the gift are outside the stated guidelines of the Gift Acceptance Committee or where the benefit of the gift is questionable for any reason. Develop and adhere to an approved annual budget to provide funding for the efficient accomplishment of assigned tasks.
Required:
Four-year undergraduate degree or ten years combined experience in fundraising with a non-profit or equivalent in

A conversant and knowledgeable facilitator in the area of firearms and gifts of firearms.
Knowledgeable of charitable gifting techniques involving firearms.

Register attendees to the conferences, keeping accurate and timely account of number and disbursements. Assist and develop prospect lists to affiliate and list additional ranges. Assist with increasing the ratio of ranges in the National Registry of Places to Shoot that are affiliated with NRA. Responsible for the publication and distribution of the RTTA Newsletter on a quarterly basis. Direct involvement in the selection of an indoor and an outdoor range for the Conference participants to visit.
Daily interaction with department and division staff, other NRA divisions, NRA members, NRA affiliated clubs, NRA affiliated State Associations, NRA Field Staff, outside organizations, vendors and the general public. Position functions in a fast paced, detail-oriented and time sensitive work environment with minimal direct supervision. Occasional local or national travel may be required. Occasional weekend and evening overtime work required.
Bachelor’s degree in a business related field preferred. May be waived with previous work experience. Administrative skills and telephone experience with emphasis on customer service is required. Experience with record keeping, information systems, budgeting, word processing, databases, spreadsheets and large mailing efforts required.
Excellent oral and written communications skills required. Working knowledge of databases, spreadsheets, email, Internet and Microsoft Office. Proven problem solving and organization skills required. Ability to work independently and take initiative to serve customers is essential. Excellent organization, follow-up, proofreading, and formatting skills are essential. Financial processing, grant and reporting experience is essential.

The position will be responsible for recruiting shooting sports retailers, certified instructors, affiliated clubs, firearms wholesalers and manufacturers into the recruiting programs and motivating them to sell NRA memberships to their customers. Essential responsibilities include: develop and implement marketing plans, including incentives and strategies to motivate membership sales for national recruiting programs; design effective advertising and promotional materials utilizing direct mail, print ads, internet, trade shows and face-to-face presentations; maintain effective communications with recruiter network; compile comprehensive productivity reports; and manage department staff and budget.
The ideal candidate will have a B.A. in Business Administration, Marketing, Management or related field. 3-5 years experience in a sales oriented environment. Sales and customer service experience, preferable within the shooting sports or retail industry. Must have excellent writing and phone skills, with a strong business sense for sales and marketing. Must be knowledgeable about computers and the Internet. Knowledge, awareness, and support of the NRA and its position in regard to the Second Amendment and firearms related issues.

Staff Instructor

Description:
Provide instructor development training for the NRA’s Law Enforcement Activities Division’s Firearm Instructor Development Schools, which are intended for public and private law enforcement and the U.S. Military.
1. Researches, develops and presents related material for the Firearms Instructors Development training program. Reviews and receives training aid material so as to assure NRA’s courses are current and applicable.
2. Responsible for the development and direction of part-time instructors selected to lead or support in assigned classes, as well as range presentations as relative to the Law Enforcement Instructor Development Schools.
3. Solicits, seeks and secures training sites for the Law Enforcement Instructor Development Schools.
4. Provide, on request, technical assistance to public and private law enforcement, the U.S. military instructors and their respective agencies.
5. Responsible for conducting as the lead instructor, of a minimum of fifteen (15) classes/courses in the disciplines you are assigned.
6. Responsible for establishing a liaison with and attending annual meetings or conferences of varied law enforcement and law enforcement training associations as assigned.
The Staff Instructor selected for this position would report and work from the NRA headquarters office in Fairfax, Virginia. High visibility with general public, private and military personnel, instructors and their agencies engaged in similar types of training, and NRA staff. Extensive local and national travel required. Weekend work required. Physical ability to negotiate steps, ladders and stand for extended periods of time and run on occasion required. Physical ability to lift firearms or ammunition containers required. Ability to demonstrate any tactical movement or entry method, adopt any shooting position, hold in position for extended periods and recover from same unassisted required. Possess the hand, arm and upper body strength required to safely handle, load, fire, reload, fire, unload, clear and make safe any student firearms as required. Frequently exposed to hearing, vision and other hazards associated with firearms training.
Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement or related discipline or equivalent law enforcement experience required. Ten years of public law enforcement experience and a minimum of five years of law enforcement firearm instructor experience required. Experience as Match Coordinator or competitor in Police Pistol Combat events.
Demonstrated ability to develop course material and exercises to multi-skill level and multi cultural groups required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to adapt instructional methods to accommodate a wide variety of skill levels, learning abilities and cultural diversity essential. Working knowledge of the demands of law enforcement training and relevant case law and liability as relative to public and private law enforcement training, firearms instruction and instructors and how such laws impact on law enforcement agencies and public responsibility essential.

State Liaison

Description:
Work with the Director to set a legislative agenda and political strategy in assigned states, and develop an annual budget for those activities. Closely monitor, thoroughly review, and understand all legislation relating to firearm, hunting, and criminal justice issues in assigned states, and maintain copies on file of such legislation. Communicate with the Director, legislative assistant, executive assistant and respective legislative aide on a regular basis on firearm, hunting, and criminal justice legislation and any other relevant legislative and political matters.
Recruit, identify, and coordinate with legislative activists. Regularly communicate with NRA Directors on legislative and political matters as necessary. File weekly reports with the Director concerning legislative action in the states to which you are assigned.
BS/BA in Political Science or related field. Prefer minimum of 3-5 years experience. Should have
exposure to legislative/political process.
Proficiency in PC software (MS Word, Excel) and excellent communication (oral & written) and
interpersonal skills. Business travel required.
