Description:
SUMMARY: Build positive relationships with major and planned gift prospects and donors in an assigned region for the benefit of the National Rifle Association. Develop strategies and execute plans to successfully identify, cultivate, solicit and steward major and planned gifts from individuals and their associated corporations and family foundations. Participate as a member of the Advancement team to build the Advancement program according to individual talents and skills as needed by the NRA. Conduct additional administrative responsibilities as related to Strategic Giving as required by Director.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
1. Build positive relationships with major and planned gift prospects and donors in an assigned multi-state region of the United States for the benefit of the National Rifle Association.
2. Manage a portfolio of up to 175 prospects and/or donors to include the identification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship of major and planned gifts reflecting the needs of the NRA and the interests of the individual donor. Manage prospect movement by developing and maintaining a “Hot 100” list of prospects (to be cultivated and solicited during the year), and normally “Top 10” list of prospects to make a “significant moves” (see page 4) on within 30 days.
3. Identify major and planned gift prospects through NRA programs and contacts. Provide initial and ongoing rating and analysis of each prospect’s ability to give and interest in the NRA.
4. Working with the Directors of Strategic Giving and Planned Giving, develop and implement cultivation strategies for major and planned gift prospects and/or donors, utilizing correspondence, NRA programs, personal contact, events, materials, other members of the NRA Advancement/management team, and the elements of moves management.
5. Working with the Directors of Strategic Giving and Planned Giving, develop and implement effective strategies to personally solicit major and planned gifts from assigned prospects and/or donors utilizing as needed other members of the Advancement Office and/or the NRA management team.
6. Work with Director of Strategic Giving to participate in budget development and review, monthly expense report review, and other duties as assigned by Director.
7. Monitor activities and responsibilities of AO Administrative Assistant as directed.
8. Represent Strategic Giving at NRA meetings and functions as directed.
9. Ensure that dollar goals, number of contacts, proposal submissions, and quality of work criteria are established annually at beginning of each year.
10. Make monthly significant moves on assigned prospects and raise gifts equal to or greater than an agreed upon annual goal to be established by the Advancement Officer, the Director of Strategic Giving, and the Executive Director of Advancement.
11. Coordinate planned giving efforts within the assigned region with members of the Planned Giving staff, and volunteers to include the NRA Planned Giving Advisory Board, the NRA Estate Planning Professionals Network, and NRA Heritage Society Ambassadors, taking and referring prospects that are motivated to become members of the Heritage Society. Support donor cultivation efforts of current and potential members of the Heritage Society. These efforts could include Heritage Society functions, donor shoots, planned giving seminars, NRA Foundation events, and other opportunities to promote awareness of planned giving opportunities and benefits.
12. Work with the Advancement Events Manager to develop the strategies, purposes and messages for Advancement events in the assigned region. Included herein would be Ring of Freedom Events as well.
13. As needed and able, recruit and manage volunteers to support Advancement objectives within assigned territory, including but not limited to, Ring of Freedom local events.
14. Work with the NRA Field Representatives within the territory to:
• Participate in Friends of the NRA events, as requested and as beneficial to the identification, cultivation, and solicitation of major and planned gift prospects.
• Provide leads on people to organize and attend Friends of the NRA events.
• Communicate regularly to build cooperation, trust and successful fundraising.
• Assist the Endowment Coordinator with duties and responsibilities outlined in the State Fund Committee Manual.
15. Prepare and submit, in a timely manner, correspondence with prospects and donors, and all reports to include call reports, projected travel itineraries, weekly actions, time cards, monthly expense reports, and other reports as requested, properly utilizing the services of an Administrative Assistant to minimize the Advancement Officer’s administrative duties.
16. Develop and adhere to an approved annual budget to provide funding for the efficient accomplishment of assigned tasks.
17. Participate in a weekly conference call held among all Advancement Officers to share the week’s celebrations, concerns, and concentrations for the next week.
18. Adhere to the Communications Review Policy as established and adopted in order to ensure the consistency of message, accuracy of information and the appropriate use of text, graphics and logos.
19. Working with the Directors of Strategic Giving and Advancement Communications, direct the development of all Strategic Giving fundraising materials and the writing of proposals for all major and planned gift solicitations.
20. Perform other duties as assigned.

Description:
Provides editorial support essential to producing the AMERICAN HUNTER print magazine and AMERICAN HUNTER digital edition in an accurate and punctual manner according to established standards and policies. Assists with content of the AmericanHunter.org website.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Handles editorial preparation and production of monthly departments as assigned by the Editor-in-Chief and/or Executive Editor, including reviewing manuscripts, copy-editing, assembling photo packages, writing captions and headlines, and proofreading.
2. Proofreads all departments and feature articles during each stage of editorial production, including checking links and page proofs of digital edition. Keys edit proof corrections on Art Department editorial workstations.
3. Assembles photo packages; helps obtain other illustrative materials.
4. Produces certain staff-generated departments.
5. Reviews, edits, and prepares feature articles.
6. Writes articles for departments and feature articles as assigned. Produces photographs on assignment when required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor of Arts degree in English or Journalism; two to three years experience on a newspaper or magazine editorial staff. Must be an experienced hunter and outdoorsman with extensive knowledge of hunting, firearms, wildlife and conservation issues.

Description:
Operates main NRA console to transfer incoming, outgoing and interoffice calls in a concise, timely, polite and professional manner. Makes minor programming changes to the NRA Telephone and Voice Mail Systems. Makes minor repairs and/or replacement of telephone sets. Maintains and updates NRA staff telephone directories. Reviews and processes the Association monthly Qwest invoice.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Operates NRA main console to transfer all calls in a concise, timely, polite and professional manner to the appropriate NRA department or staff member. Ensures main console is staffed between the hours of 8:30 AM and 6:00 PM daily.
2. Makes programming changes to the NRA Telephone and Voice mail systems to include, but, not limited to; phone name display, intercom name display, mailbox name, re-setting of a mailbox and password in an accurate and timely manner. Makes minor repair and/or replacement of telephone sets.
3. Maintains and updates the NRA on-line information directory database in an accurate and timely manner. Researches questions about and provides information on the on-line directory database in an accurate and timely manner.
4. Collects information for input into the printed NRA staff phone directory in an accurate and timely manner.
5. Coordinates the Qwest bill review process and the data entry of detail payment information in an accurate and timely manner. Sends Qwest monthly bill and payment information to Financial Services to make sure bill is paid on time.
6. Serves as back-up to the Telecom Coordinator to include, but not limited to; the answering of the Telecom help desk main number, and AT&T corporate calling cards.
7. Records the holiday and emergency menus and greetings as required.
8. Maintains and updates the Association voice menu and announcement scripts documents.
9. Performs clerical duties such as; typing, proofreading, sorting mail, faxing and copying as required.
10. Completes annual goals and objectives set by Telecommunications Manager in an accurate and timely manner.

SCOPE: Extensive contact with NRA members, staff and the general public. Position functions in a fast paced work environment with a high volume of phone calls on a regular basis. No travel required. Database Analyst Manager (Raiser's Edge)

Description:
This position works closely with the Director, Advancement Services to manage the day-to-day operations of the Raiser’s Edge Database for the NRA Office of Advancement. This includes ensuring gift and data integrity, providing reporting solutions, queries and exports for all Advancement staff, and tracking and analyzing prospect and donor fundraising efforts for all fundraisers working with the Office of Advancement.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: This position works closely with the Director, Advancement Services to manage the day-to-day operations of the Raiser’s Edge Database for the NRA Office of Advancement. This includes ensuring gift and data integrity, providing reporting solutions, queries and exports for all Advancement staff, and tracking and analyzing prospect and donor fundraising efforts for all fundraisers working with the Office of Advancement.
1. Manage day-to-day operation of the Raiser’s Edge Database for the NRA Office of Advancement to include but not limited to: Setting up new users; training new users; creating funds, actions, events, campaigns, etc.; running global changes, appeal additions, and coding queries to keep records up-to-date with mailings and invitations.
2. Work directly with the Director, Advancement Services to ensure timely and accurate reporting using Raiser’s Edge canned reports. These reports will be weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly on Advancement fundraising activities. Responsible for ensuring standard reports are executed and forwarded as defined in a timely manner.
3. Create and execute ad hoc requests for reports, queries, and exports with the goal to being more proactive with reports on special fundraising projects, as well as everyday fundraising activities. Serve as the liaison to Advancement Officers for database queries. Meet report and information request deadlines and ensure that the information reported is current and accurate. This also includes special requests for lists for mailings, cultivation events, donor visits, etc.
4. Validate gift integrity. As new contributions are added to the database the Database Analyst Manager is responsible to validate gift entry to ensure proper coding and accuracy of the information entered.
5. Ensure adherence of the collection and appropriate coding of planned gifts in Raiser’s Edge. Responsible for scanning backup material.
6. Responsible for prospect and donor proposal oversight to include solicitor and rating entry and coding as well as updating the database with new biographical information including addresses, business and employer information, personal information, activities, name changes, and event invitations.
7. Assist in database clean-up and maintenance, including the elimination of duplicate accounts and establishment of new donor records. Research best practices for data integrity practices and pro-actively communicate to staff opportunities to enhance our donor record information.
8. Work closely with Advancement staff, in particular the Prospect/Research Manager, to ensure the timely data entry of all donor/prospect information.
9. Assigned back-up for the accurate and detailed data entry of gifts and documented commitments in to Raiser’s Edge during periods of the Database Coordinator’s absence and during periods of high demand.
10. Work closely with Advancement Reporting and Budget Manager on special Raiser’s Edge projects and systems to ensure the database is working efficiently and meeting the needs of Advancement Staff.

Field Representative - Area 32 (UT, Eastern NV, S. ID)

Description:
Acts as representative for the National Rifle Association on an area level to NRA members, volunteers, clubs and associations. Manages fund-raising efforts, promotes membership development programs and promotes NRA programs and services.
Responsibilities include implementing fund-raising for The NRA Foundation through organizing volunteer committees and coordinating Friends of NRA banquets and special events. Coordinates the solicitation and distribution of applications for Friends of NRA State Fund grants and serves as secretary for the State Fund Committee. Insures compliance with all of the conditions of allocation for all The NRA Foundation grants. Solicits gifts and donations to The NRA Foundation endowments, ensuring follow-up and donor recognition. Establishes a network of volunteers by identifying and recruiting select NRA activists as Field Support Team members. Trains Field Support Team members, Friends of NRA committee members and other volunteers by conducting an annual workshop as well as other training as needed. Coordinates the efforts of all volunteers to ensure accomplishment of area goals and objectives. Ensures NRA presence at all major gun shows, sports shows and related exhibits/events by coordinating the efforts of Field Support Team members and other volunteers. Promotes NRA membership recruitment programs and services by networking with the state associations, NRA affiliated clubs and retail dealers; promotes and recruits Business Alliance memberships, actively seeks out and recruits shooting sports clubs as NRA affiliated clubs. Serves as a clearing house for the numerous requests for information regarding NRA membership services and programs. Perform other duties as assigned.
High visibility with NRA membership, volunteers, activists, members of the NRA Board of Directors, NRA staff and the media. Responsible for large sums of money on a regular basis and the care and maintenance of NRA equipment. Position requires frequent travel and overtime work, including weekends and evenings. Position functions with minimal day-to-day supervision.
Bachelor's Degree is preferred. Previous experience and exposure to fund-raising, volunteer recruitment and management is required. Other useful skills include, but are not limited to, public speaking, working knowledge of computers and experience in sales and marketing. Organizational and time management skills are required.

Assists in the execution of State & Local legislative policies as conceived
and established by the organization.
Stay informed about all current issues within assigned states, being
updated on all states to be able to effectively respond to almost any

College coursework and/or degree in Political Science or related field; related
work experience may be substituted. Administrative training also helpful.
Minimum background of 1-2 years solid work experience and demonstrated ability

ability to accurately type 60 wpm, good grammar, punctuation and editing skills

As a team member of the NRA Membership Division, the Marketing Representative is the face of the NRA, responsible for representing NRA at a variety of large consumer shows and events across the country to recruit new members and provide service to existing members. The Marketing Representative plans and coordinates all aspects of the shows he or she attends including travel arrangements, securing volunteer support, researching advertising and promotional opportunities, honing sales and marketing techniques and the assembly/disassembly of displays and exhibits.
The Marketing Representative also manages a group of independent contractors in a defined territory of the country. This involves extensive phone time with the Recruiters as well as the producers of the shows and events in the assigned territory.

We are presently seeking a Manager for our state-of-the-art shooting range at our Fairfax, VA Headquarters. The selected candidate will manage all aspects of the NRA Range operation on a daily basis to ensure safe and productive usage of facility.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Recruit, train, develop, supervise and motivate a professional staff of range officers to accomplish objectives in a time-sensitive environment.
2. Coordinate and supervise the scheduling of all range activities to include shooting and classroom events within department guidelines.
3. Supervise scheduling of all range officers to meet range operations requirements, including the scheduling of all range officers for the required blood lead level and hearing tests in a timely manner.
4. Supervise the operation and maintenance of all range equipment, including but not limited to lane controls, master computer, bullet trap, air ventilation equipment, lighting controls and any office equipment.
5. Oversee the operation of the Check-In Office and Pro Shop to include retail sales, inventory control, cash receipts, security and turn-in of all revenue to Financial Services in a timely manner.
6. Develop a reliable and usable database that contains information concerning individuals qualified to use the facility, range applications and tests.
7. Supervise and coordinate, within department guidelines, the continuing development of the range marketing plan and strategies to promote the shooting sports and utilize the range facility to its full potential.

Provide instructor development training for the NRA’s Law Enforcement Activities Division’s Firearm Instructor Development Schools, which are intended for public and private law enforcement and the U.S. Military.
1. Researches, develops and presents related material for the Firearms Instructors Development training program. Reviews and receives training aid material so as to assure NRA’s courses are current and applicable.
2. Responsible for the development and direction of part-time instructors selected to lead or support in assigned classes, as well as range presentations as relative to the Law Enforcement Instructor Development Schools.
3. Solicits, seeks and secures training sites for the Law Enforcement Instructor Development Schools.
4. Provide, on request, technical assistance to public and private law enforcement, the U.S. military instructors and their respective agencies.
5. Responsible for conducting as the lead instructor, of a minimum of fifteen (15) classes/courses in the disciplines you are assigned.
6. Responsible for establishing a liaison with and attending annual meetings or conferences of varied law enforcement and law enforcement training associations as assigned.
The Staff Instructor selected for this position would report and work from the NRA headquarters office in Fairfax, Virginia. High visibility with general public, private and military personnel, instructors and their agencies engaged in similar types of training, and NRA staff. Extensive local and national travel required. Weekend work required. Physical ability to negotiate steps, ladders and stand for extended periods of time and run on occasion required. Physical ability to lift firearms or ammunition containers required. Ability to demonstrate any tactical movement or entry method, adopt any shooting position, hold in position for extended periods and recover from same unassisted required. Possess the hand, arm and upper body strength required to safely handle, load, fire, reload, fire, unload, clear and make safe any student firearms as required. Frequently exposed to hearing, vision and other hazards associated with firearms training.
Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement or related discipline or equivalent law enforcement experience required. Ten years of public law enforcement experience and a minimum of five years of law enforcement firearm instructor experience required. Experience as Match Coordinator or competitor in Police Pistol Combat events.
Demonstrated ability to develop course material and exercises to multi-skill level and multi cultural groups required. Excellent oral and written communication skills required. Ability to adapt instructional methods to accommodate a wide variety of skill levels, learning abilities and cultural diversity essential. Working knowledge of the demands of law enforcement training and relevant case law and liability as relative to public and private law enforcement training, firearms instruction and instructors and how such laws impact on law enforcement agencies and public responsibility essential.
