WHITETAIL DEER HUNTER CLINIC INSTRUCTOR APPLICATION AND EXAMINATION

form provides specific information on becoming a NRA Hunter Clinic
Instructor. Please study if carefully to make sure that you meet
all requirements before completing, and mailing this form. You can
first complete everything on the screen, then print and mail the
entire document.
Instructor Purpose
The primary purpose of a NRA Whitetail Deer Hunter Clinic Instructor
is to conduct the NRA Whitetail Deer Hunter Clinic for those individuals
interested in whitetail deer hunting.
This form is divided into five sections:

III. NRA Hunter Clinic Instructor's Code of Conduct
IV. NRA Whitetail Deer Hunter Clinic Instructor Examination
V. Instructor Course Evaluation
In order for the NRA to process your application, each section
must be completed according to the provided directions. Please
read and follow them carefully.

I. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
In order to apply for NRA Hunter Clinic Instructor certification,
you must meet the following requirements.
Certified NRA Hunter Clinic Instructors must:
- be at least 21 years of age.
- possess a strong background in whitetail deer hunting, or
be a professional educator, state or provincial volunteer hunter
education instructor, wildlife conservation professional, or
a NRA Certified Instructor.
- successfully complete a NRA Whitetail Deer Hunter Clinic Instructor
Training Course. Training may be completed by either a correspondence
course or by the endorsement of a NRA Hunter Skills Training
Counselor at a training session.
- satisfactorily complete and submit this application and examination
with appropriate materials and fees to the NRA. A score of 90%
or higher is required for certification.
Required Processing Fee
Applicants must pay a certification processing fee for each
NRA Hunter Clinic Instructor rating (ie. Whitetail Deer, Wild Turkey,
etc.). This fee allows you to be placed in the Hunter Services data
system and ensures you will receive an instructor certificate, card,
patch, and training newsletter for each discipline.
- The basic fee for a current NRA member is $35.00 and $45.00
for non-members. (All fees are non-refundable.)
Do not send cash. Make checks or money orders payable to the National
Rifle Association.
Renewals
NRA Whitetail Deer Hunter Clinic Instructor certification must
be renewed every two years ($35.00/$45.00 fee). This renewal fee
covers one certification. Renewal notices are automatically sent
to all instructors. If your certification is not renewed within
3 years, you must reapply as a new instructor. Instructor records
are not maintained beyond this date.

II. APPLICATION FOR A NRA WHITETAIL DEER HUNTER CLINIC INSTRUCTOR
Each applicant must fill out this form completely. Study this
section thoroughly before completing. You may
fill this form out on the computer, then print and send to the NRA Hunter
Services Department. Print or type all information.

III. NRA HUNTER CLINIC INSTRUCTOR'S CODE OF CONDUCT
All NRA Hunter Clinic Instructors are expected to adhere to the
policies and standards set forth by this Code of Conduct whenever they
are representing the NRA.
Code of Conduct
- Never openly criticize the NRA and its programs, publications or
beliefs.
- Always express a safe, ethical, responsible, and positive attitude.
- Present yourself in a neat and professional manner.
- Teach only those topics found in NRA Hunter Clinic Lesson Plans.
- Do not endorse a specific manufacturer's product at the exclusion
of all others.
- Do not use any profanity or other unacceptable language or gestures.
- Do not eat, smoke, or chew tobacco while teaching.
- Never use alcoholic beverages and/or illegal narcotic substances
before or during a clinic.
- Complete all records of your clinics promptly and accurately, and
return them when requested.
The NRA Hunter Clinic Program represents the highest standards and
practices in hunter education. As a volunteer NRA Hunter Clinic Instructor,
I recognize my conduct has an impact far beyond myself and hereby agree
to be a positive example for all individuals. I agree to comply with
all NRA policies and standards of conduct. Failure to comply with any
of these terms may result in immediate dismissal from the NRA Hunter
Clinic Instructor Program.
NRA WHITETAIL DEER HUNTER CLINIC INSTRUCTOR EXAMINATION
The questions in this examination are based on the NRA Hunter Clinic
Instructor's Guide, the NRA Whitetail Deer Hunter Clinic Instructor's
Manual, The Hunter's Guide, and the Student's Manual - Whitetail
Deer Hunting.
