Police Pistol Combat Program
Information & Rules

The rules and procedures for competing in and hosting NRA Police Pistol Combat Tournaments are maintained in the online Police Pistol Combat Rule Book. The current edition is dated January 9, 2010. Older editions are no longer valid.

This website provides a resource for all interested in the NRA Law Enforcement Police Pistol Combat Program. This single source for information allows competitors, Tournament Officials, NRA PPC Referees, and firearm and equipment manufacturers to know what the Rules are, how they apply, and obtain answers to their equipment, firearm and procedural questions.

STEP 1:

When researching PPC Rule questions, your first stop should be to check the online Police Pistol Combat Rule Book.

STEP 2:

You should then check the PPC Rule Book Recent Rule Revisions pages. You can see the last Rule Revisions passed by the NRA Board of Directors. Remember, you must read the Revision Pages along with the appropriate section of the online PPC Rule Book to see how the changes are incorporated into the Rule Book. Only the parts of the specific rule are printed in revision update, not the entire rule section.

STEP 3:

Competitors frequently contact the Law Enforcement Competitions Department with rule-related equipment and firearm questions, or about issues dealing with tournament reporting, forms, targets, PPC classification, and the Distinguished program.

Using these valuable questions, we have developed the Police Pistol Combat Program Bulletin. Each Bulletin answers a specific question concerning the Police Pistol Combat Program, passes on information from Law Enforcement Competitors that is useful to PPC program participants.

Just check out the Police Pistol Program Bulletin index below and click on the Bulletin Number you are interested in.

Have a topic you don’t see listed that should be? Just e-mail LEcompetitions@nrahq.org with your question with full details. Be as specific as possible, listing manufacturer information, models numbers, etc. and attach any digital photographs that may help.

Want to get new PPC Program Bulletins when they come out? Just send us an e-mail requesting to be on the notification list at LEcompetitions@nrahq.org and we will add you to the list.
