The National Rifle Association recognizes the contributions of women, who have demonstrated dedication to the promotion of the Second Amendment, have made outstanding achievements in educational contributions while advancing the purposes and goals of the NRA and, through legislative and legal contributions, have significantly impacted the preservation of the shooting sports. For these accomplishments, the National Rifle Association bestows the Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award and the Marion P. Hammer Woman of Distinction Award.

The Sybil Ludington Women's Freedom Award was created in 1995, and it recognizes women's contributions at the national level. The Marion P. Hammer Woman of Distinction Award, created in 2004, honors women whose achievements have been made on the state, regional and local levels.
